Q: Are the headlights on a 2008 Saturn Aura a delay shut-off?
I noticed the headlights and taillights on my co-workers 2008 Saturn Aura were on this morning. I chucked and called him on my cell. He said it wasn't a problem because they are a delay shut-off. I asked him how long ago he parked the car. He said about "20 minutes". I said delay headlights are "typically a few seconds to a couple of minutes at most. And in addition, with those automatic type of headlights, only the headlights are on a delay. The taillights/sidelights should shut off with the car.". He didn't seem too concerned about it.
Sooo. Is he going to come out to a dead battery?
A: no. they are on a delay. if you leave the switch in the 'ON' position, in that car they will shut themselves off in a little while. this is the norm on most new cars.
for example... the van i drive for work has automatic light sensors and will turn the headlights on for you if you don't. they shut down within a few minutes of turnign off the van. if i turn the lights on myself and forget to turn them off, the lights will still turn off, but it takes 10-20 minutes for them to do it. but they will shut off faster if the battery is low... the computer is designed to know those things.

Q: How do i Know how many gallons of gas my car needs?
I'm planing on going to california in a 2008 Saturn Aura Green Line Hybrid. what is Hybrid?
A: TOTAL TRIP MILES/ AVG MPG = total gas needed.
Both numbers available online.
Tank capacity of the car is published in the owner's manual.
Q: I can't decide! Do I choose the Saturn or Acura?
I have the opportunity to choose between the following cars:
Used 2008 Saturn Aura XE
Cloth Seats; Automatic
11,000mi;$16k
-or-
2005 Acura TSX
Leather Seats; Automatic
55,000mi;$17k
On paper it seems obvious that I should choose the Saturn; but after driving the Acura and seeing the quality of interior (not to mention all of the "bells and whistles") I'm not so sure. Both cars drove great but there was no comparison regarding the interior quality.
I so love the Acura! Is it rediculous of me to choose a an older car with more miles at a higher cost over a new car with low miles at a lower cost?
A: Acura.
Its a very reliable car and this model will probably save more gas than the Saturn. Also, i think Acura is more of a luxury brand, while Saturn is not You might even find a good deal on a 2008 Acura TSX since it is redesigned for 2009 and dealers probably want to get rid of the previous generation models....
Q: how long does it take a store like circuit city to install subwoofers and an amp into my car?
it is a 2008 saturn aura
A: No longer than keeping it there for a day.
They may be busy, but they will have it for you today.
Q: If your cool then give me your opinions on this :)!?
Would you consider the 2008 Saturn Aura to be a
Girl or a Boy car?
A: neither it's a boxy looking Saturn.
it's not that cute or whatever it takes to be a girls car.
but don't buy one.
the XE has a better ride than the XR but the engine is not as good.
the XR has the better engine but the stiffer bouncy ride.
both cars will fishtail or slide out too easily.
Esc is an option on the XE.
plastics are cheap and plenty on the inside.
they have better choices than either trim level of this car.

Q: need help deciding which car to buy?
i probably won't even buy the car until 2010 or 2011 but i know it will be a used car (lower prices, lower insurance etc) i've narrowed my choices down to:
2008 Honda Accord Coupe
2008 Saturn Aura Hybrid Greenline
2008 Ford Fusion
2008 Toyota Camry
2008 Hyundai Sonata
What i'm looking for in my car:
Good gas mileage
Decent price (nothing over 22,000 by the time i get it)
Safety features (airbags, traction+stability control+abs breaks)
AWD if i can get it
A fun sporty looking car
Anyways with all that in mind my choice is the Accord but maybe there are some other options?
*My other choice was the fusion but it doesn't have stability control. ... To be honest i don't even know what the traction and stability control are so.. if someone could explain it tome it would help me to know if i need it or not.
by the time i get the car the price will go down so i'm sure i'll be able to afford the honda accord coupe even if it will take me a little while longer to get.
I was just in an accident so all those safety features are pretty important to me.
Just wondering though, is there any car that as AWD and all the safety features?
A: It's good that you are thinking ahead, but 2010 or 2011 is a long way off. Keep an open mind. When I was looking for vehicles in 2002/2003 I was pricing out 3/4 tonne cargo vans and pickups with diesel engines to accommodate what then appeared to be my career path. Well, life took a different path and I now drive a 2004 Subaru Forester. It's the perfect vehicle for my needs and driving patterns. Getting the van or truck would have made sense then, but would be a horrible mistake now.
I'd recommend the Subaru Impreza (sp? - small car) line for AWD, fuel mileage, sporty looks/handling, and mechanical reliability.
As for traction and stability control: they are nice safety features, but they ARE NOT 4x4. You won't pull yourself out of a swamp. Those systems should be a secondary consideration, but not a primary selling point. A good, safe driver does not need those systems. You need to buy the vehicle that best meets your needs, otherwise you'll be sorry.
Q: Your Opinion Please:)! Answer if your cool!?
Whats is your opinion by looking at the
2008 Saturn Aura... Would you think its a Girl Or A Boy car?
A: both, more like a girl's car or a businessman's car.
Q: New car, which is the better buy?
My husband's getting me a new car in early 2008. I don't know what the better buy is, 2007/08 Mercury Milan or 2007/08 Saturn Aura. I like both, he's leaning more towards the Aura.
A: Look at the new 2008 Nissan Altima hybrid. I own a 2005 Altima, and it's a great car. The hybrid will be even better.

Myth...
GM doesn’t make cars that people want to buy
Fact...
9.3 million people worldwide bought GM vehicles last year. That’s more vehicles than any other automaker in the world sold. And in the U.S., which is the world’s largest market, GM sold more vehicles than any other manufacturer in 2007, and it has sold more than any other automaker to date in 2008.
In 2008, the Chevy Malibu was named North American Car of the Year, and the Cadillac CTS was Motor Trend’s 2008 Car of the Year. In 2007, the Saturn Aura and Chevy Silverado won North American Car and Truck of the year. Those awards are given and judged by automotive journalists.
Customers have responded just as enthusiastically as the critics. Although total U.S. vehicle sales are down almost 15% so far this year (through October), a number of GM cars and crossovers have enjoyed significant sales increases:
Chevy Malibu +39%
Pontiac Vibe +36%
Pontiac G6 + 4%
Cadillac CTS +15%
Saturn Aura +7%
GMC Acadia +2%
Buick Enclave +88%
Then someone needs to explain to me why they need the money....to me all this shows is they are financialy irresponsible.
Not to mention GREEDY
A: Myth:
GM didn’t anticipate the growing demand for fuel efficient cars.
Fact:
Early this decade, GM put a major focus on improving its cars and expanding the number of crossover vehicles that it offers. As a result, of the last 13 new GM products introduced in the U.S. 11 have been cars or crossovers. Of the next 19 launches, 18 will be cars or crossovers.
Cars like the Saturn Aura, Chevy Malibu and Cadillac CTS have won major awards and are selling well in a very tough market. GM is also the only U.S.-based company to offer a subcompact car, the Chevy Aveo, which we introduced back in 2003. A second subcompact, the Pontiac G3, joins the lineup early next year.
GM crossovers like the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Pontiac Vibe have become increasingly popular with customers who need the space and utility of an SUV in a more fuel-efficient package.
The very rapid shift from trucks to cars that occurred when fuel prices spiked this spring has forced all carmakers to adapt. With its current and future product lineup, GM is well positioned to take advantage of growing demand for fuel efficient vehicles.
### I find it odd that the demand for fuel efficiency began during the mid 70's..and the foreign auto makers were way ahead of the need...yet GM and the others tried and failed to build "reliable" fuel efficiant cars...they only just now see the need.
The Volkswagon Bug was the best fuel efficent car in those days(50mpg)..it's demise were the emmision standards.
So for them to say they were ahead of the game is a joke.
Q: Which car would you pick?
1) black MAZDA3 2008 sedan (under 10,000 miles)
2) red KIA SPORTAGE LX 2006 (17,000 miles)
3) black PONTIAC G6 2008 (under 15,000 miles)
4) blue SATURN Aura 2009 (under 10,000 miles) --- it's $3,000 more expensive than the other cars
5) gray CHEVY Malibux Maxx 2007 (30,000 miles)
A: mazda 3 hands down.
