Q: How do I take out my 95 Saturn SC2 Front speakers?
I want to replace my front speakers on my 95 Saturn SC2. I can pop out the plastic grill to expose the speaker. I can remove 4 screws that attach the speaker to a bracket. But there is still something holding the speaker in. It looks like a 3 point ringed bracket. What am I missing?

A: If its the same layout as my 97 sc2 then you need to remove the whole door panel you can do this with a few common tools as its held in with a few screws near the door handle the rest are clips just pry gently and pop the clips out. if you have manual windows like me thenyou can get a small tool to pop the handle off but i used a tiny screwdriver

Q: what transmission will replace 1997 sc2 double head cam saturn?
I have a chance to buy a 1997 Saturn sc2 at a good price without a transmission. I have read that most auto transmissions in previous and future years has major transmission problems, so I was wondering if another make of transmission would work and save me the repeated tasks and costs of changing transmissions repeatedly.

A: The same type that came out of it. It is that simple. In 1999 There were some changes and again in 2001. There is a metal tag on the transmission That tell what Type it is. There may mettic on the pan as well. Otherwise it will not work.

Q: Can I fix the condensation inside my 2001 saturn SC2 headlamp?
I am going to purchase a 2001 Saturn SC2 and the headlamp has obvious moisture inside of it. I want to know if this can be fixed or does the whole headlamp assembly need to be replaced. Thank you. p.s. What is your opinion of the 2001 Saturn SC2?

A: I'l,l make some minor sugjestions but probablt arent going to do the trick. You see if the lamp assy is original the lexan housing has lost its ability to combat nature, @ color faided, not as clear, has chipping, etc. that said and you want to try then lets try, start with remove the bulb from the housing in the rear make sure its warm out and not humid at all, using a hair dryer gently sweep from one side to the other warming the lense dont stay in one spot ever, your only trying to evaporate the moisture inside. carefully examin the housing for even the slightest pin holes from rocks and debrit, if you find them they must be sealed. ( a good fish tank lexan adhesive will work great) if you find a hole try to clean a tiny spot with alcohol dry with a clean cloth and aply a dot on the hole. let dry, there is a seal around the housing that may be dryed out as well this would require removal of the housing to access the botom side but simple clear silicone would work on this, apply a bead all around and spread it to fill the surface of the seal, lastly replace the seal on the rear bulb as it has a moisture seal as well and ages

Q: What size sub will fit in a 95 Saturn SC2?
I might buy a 95 Saturn SC2 and was wandering if anyone knew what size sub would fit inside, my 95 T-Bird barely held 2 12" sub in a box in the back.

A: 10's, 12's, just make sure you use a band pass box. their smaller so they'll fit in lots of car with little room.

Q: How do i install a cd player in a 2002 saturn sc2.?
i recently purchased a 2002 saturn sc2 and am wanting to replace the current cd deck in there. i already have the headunit. it was previously installed in my old car. i am capable of doing it myself. i just need to know how to get the old unit out. the only way that i can think of would be taking the entire dash cover off. is this the correct way to do it.

A: Yes, The entire top of the dash has to come off to replace the factory radio. (what was GM thinkin????) there is no easy way to do it, so go slow, take out all the screws on the drivers side and passenger side (by the glove box) and remove the dash top, its the only way. A shop can get it done in about 1.5 hour (on/off/installed). It should take you 2-2.5 hours. (make sure you have a radio kit/wire harness/ and the antenna adapter (gm cars require an antenna adapter)) the parts should cost you 15-30 $$. good luck

Q: What could be wrong with my friend's Saturn SC2?
My friend drives a 1995 Saturn SC2 2-door coupe. She was going to have a new alternator put on the car but found out that's not the problem, it is a wiring problem. What could this be exactly and can anyone give me an idea of how much it might cost to have it fixed? Her car broke down at Wal-Mart, she left it for a couple of days, and then went back so she could try & drive it home, and it ran, she got it home no problem.

A: What problem is your friend having? If it is a no-start problem, she may only need a new battery or cleaning the battery cable connections.

Q: where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 1996 saturn sc2?
1996 saturn sc2 twin cam, fuel injection, manual. Camshaft position sensor code came out on diagnostic check. need to know where is this sensor located at.

A: The code your getting could be a few different things. First...check to make sure your ignition wires on the ignition coils are not corroded. Also using a digital volt ohm meter, check the resistance and continuity of each ignition wire. Second...Remove the ignition module/coiul pack assembly from teh transmission, clean the underside of the ignition module with steel wool, and clean the trans where it mounts. If its corroded, it could cause some issues. Both of those wont cost you anything to do. if after you do the above you still get the trouble code, you might need to replace the ignition module itself. Kevin

Q: I was wondering if anyone that has a 2001 Saturn SC2, is having trouble with the automatic transmission in it?
I have a 2001 saturn sc2 and the transmission is messed up in it. I have taken it to 2 different auto shops and both told me that they had just got done working on the same type of cars for the very same problem. The problem is that the transmission will not pull or kick into overdrive. Also when you drive the car, the transmission makes a high pitch noise, it smells like burnt trany fliud, and when you add fluid it will spit it back out. Please tell me if you have any information or if it is happening to you too. Thanks

A: Have you had the transmission serviced ? Saturns use a spin on type trans filter that looks like an oil filter and a drain plug thats easy to access. The only problems I have had with Saturn Transmissions. are usually caused by other problems. 1.The trans cooler in the radiator can fail causing water to mix with the trans fluid. 2.The battery can leak acid down on top of the trans and cause wiring problems. Add fluid slowley to avoid spitting back.

Q: Speedometer not working in 95 Saturn SC2?
My speedometer in my 95 Saturn SC2 does not work until the car gets warm apparently. I put in a new vehicle speed censor and that hasn't fixed it. Sometimes I have to drive almost 30 miles before it starts to work. If you have a solution, please let me know. Also, its only the speedometer that doesn't work. All the other gages work as normal.

A: Hi There. The answer is fairly simple. There is a bad solder joint on the Speedometer's circuit board. Your Speedometer is actually made By a German Company Called VDO. I Repair at least one Speedometer a Month from Saturn's for this problem. it seems to be only the 94-97 models that have the problem. It is common for this kind of problem. The speedometer will be intermittent and especially when the vehicle or weather is cold. The Speedometer needs to be replaced or repaired by a qualified Speedometer technician. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Q: Does anybody here own a Pontiac Sunfire or Saturn SC2?
I am thinking about getting either a used sunfire or used sc2 but I was wondering how may miles they can get in their lifetime? Is 150,000 for a sunfire mean the sunfire won't last me much longer? Thanks for everyone's help!

A: I had a Saturn SC2 Happy to get rid off it. Saturn cars can only be fixed with Saturn parts and any shop can not order them you have to go the the dealer and have them fix it. Two arms and one leg later i am glad to be done with it.

How much time does it take? Are there any special tools needed? Should the fuel filter be changed also?
