A: You are probably going to get 50 combinations on here on what others think is the best. My advice too you is, go to your local car audio store, provide them with your budget, and listen to some of the combinations. Q: i have a 1999 saturn sc2?
but the main input shaft seal on the tranny has a leak and its pretty constant.. i have to transport it from connecticut to virginia and i cant afford to tow it down here. if i keep fluid in it do you think i can make it down here? and im not looking for someone to tell me that its dangerous cause i already know that but this is my only choice... please help!!!!!!!!

A: have you tried any of the "stop leak" chemicals to see if that will stop / reduce the leak until you can make the permanent repair?

Q: Audio System Bypass '99 Saturn?
I have a 1999 Saturn SC2. I want to put in an after market radio but I not want to loose my car sounds. Where can i get something to help me with this.

A: There's nothing special that has to be done to install a new radio into a 99 Saturn. That model does NOT include the "data bus" radio that generates the vehicle warning chimes. All vehicle functions will work perfectly well without the factory radio.

Q: My car stops when at a stoplight?
I have a 1999 Saturn SC2. Lately, it has been turning off when I come to a stoplight. It has only done this a few times and is not constant. It also has only started hapening since it has gotten a bit warmer. It doesn't seem to do it at night, though. My AC has been running when it happens. Also, my engine makes a rattling noise when it passes 2000 RPMs or when I first start the car. Does anyone have a clue as to what it could be? Can I fix it myself? It is an automatic transmission.

Q: What does it mean when you need to put new oil in you car every few months?
I was looking into a 1999 Saturn SC2, and I found one for a great price, but the lady told me that although it runs perfectly, she finds that she needs to put more oil in every few months, and Im worried that this might lead to more serious problems with it.

A: It means she's not changing her oil very often. I'd steer clear.

Q: Cold air does not blow out of AC!?
I have a 1999 Saturn SC2. The AC is not working properly. I have freon(sp?) in it but it still does not blow cold air out. What is the problem? If anyone has any clue about what could be wrong please let me know what to do. It blows out air, it's hot not cold.

A: You're compressor is bad or your a/c belt is broken. Take a look under the hood to see if the belt is intact. If it is, than you need to have your compressor looked at.

Q: Help! Car won't start & they can't fix it.?
I've already checked several answers to similar questions, but I'm not sure if others are having the same problem... 2 weeks ago I couldn't start my car, but it started when jumped so I took to mechanic and they gave me an (expensive) new battery. Saturday the car did the same thing, but it wouldn't jump and we had to get it towed. By Monday, the dealer went to get the car & they say it "started right up." They keep trying to re-create it not starting & say they can't figure out what it is unless it won't start again (????) The car doesn't sputter, turn over or anything when I turn the key. This occurred both times when I drove the car a few blocks, ran into the store for a few minutes, and then came out and tried to start the car. Any ideas? I have a feeling mechanic is going to send me home w/ it sans any repairs. Oh, it's a 1999 Saturn SC2 with automatic transmission. When I try to start it, it does not click. No sound at all. Yes, all lights & whatnot come on when I turn the key. Headlights work too. I do jiggle the shifter (in park)b/c my key sometimes gets stuck in ignition if I don't, but it doesn't help car turn on. I will try shifting into neutral when it happens again (b/c it will happen again if they don't do anything)

A: I have a 1999 Saturn Sl 2... With an automatic, it might be the neutral switch. Simple test here... Next time it won't start, put the car in neutral (with your foot on the brake) and then turn the key. If it starts, you have a bad neutral switch. Also, it might be as simple as a bad ground wire off the starter. The starter may be going bad and just not bad yet. A bad ignition could also be the problem. These are the areas I'd check. I have a 1999 Saturn SC2, unfortunately its an auto, came with a short ram intake and I would like to get a little more beef out of the exhaust without sounding rediculous. I am mostly asking for anything from mufflers to brands to even tip resonators, as well as keeping it cost efficient as possible, any opinions are lots of help, thanks!

A: People..It's a Saturn, it's not going to have a V8. You need to google and find a Saturn enthusiast website..a community of Saturn owners who have done modifications to their car. you can get good ideas from sites like that.

Q: Which car is a better deal for about $5,000?
I'm looking at either a: 2000-2001 Saturn SC2 or SL2 2000-2001 Ford Focus 1998-2000 Honda Civic 1999 Honda Passport 4 Door I have decided to buy a used car. Keep the expense down but still get some reliablity. Any thoughts on the above mentioned cars that I'm looking at? Average mileage is about 75000 ALL are under 100,000...some are 97000 miles and some are 50,000 miles.

A: I had the same dilemma, I chose a 2001 mitsubishi galant v6. Fast, good looking, and I bought it for under 5,000. It did have 94,000 miles, but it drives like no other. Go for the celica, I was looking for one but they are tough to find. I'm sure you can find a 1999 celica with about 80,000 miles for under 9,000. With the left over 1,000 you can get the lips on the car, spoiler, and tint the windows.

well I just went to look for car yesterday that I found it on craigslist where they sell cars cheap by owners and dealer. I found one that's by owner. the car is saturn ion 2001 its SC2. anyways, the price this person's asking is $7200 we asked if he could go down to 10% which is about $700 but he can't. so I think the price of the car we get to agree is about.. $6800. and I just checked on kelly blue book, and the price for the private party is like $6240 considering the excellent condition. this car is beautiful i really like it a lot. but i just wanna make sure that its the right price,, p.s. I checked the same car out at the dealer, it was same model but the year was 1999, and the a/c didn't work. they asked for $7000. ** and where's the meter reader in SC2? I couldn't find it!!

I checked the same car out at the dealer, it was same model but the year was 1999, and the a/c DOESN'T work. they asked for $7000. additional $1000 to fix it. * the car has about 70k miles i think. and the windows are tinted. its darker than legal. so i might have to take that off if i get caught, other than that, the cars great, no accident or anything well maintained

A: I got my wife a Hyundia Accent '04, priced under $7,000. Its a great car that drives through snow, mud, and ontop of ice! Don't even waste your money on a saturn - poor choice!
