Q: saturn sky?
I had a saturn sky about a year and half, the whistle noise come from the rear just getting louder and louder,it's a cool looking car,but it dosen't sounds cool at all with the noise.I brought it into the dealership(saturn of ontario).first time they change some part for my car, after 2 days the noise cames out again.2nd time after checked they told me thet they can't find the proplem.(what da heck!!)I really can't stand with the noise,so I back to the dealship a month later.and guess what..this time they told me thet they'd check with Manufacturer and saying that is a normal sound.can you belivie that? can anyone help? Please~
I think the whistle noise came around from rear wheel.when it in 3rd gear about 30~40 mph,if step the gas lightly,it'll comes pretty loud....thanks your help PJ.
A: I work for a Saturn dealer as a tech and I Have seen a few Sky's with wind noise issues, but I have resolved all of them. Is yours a wind whistle, like at a certain speed, or is is a whistle that goes with wheel speed. It is important to clearly identify the noise in question with a service advisor, or the service manager then they can relay the info to the tech working on your car. I agree this is an issue that should be addressed and corrected. If you can't get satisfaction from your dealer try another, or call the Saturn customer assistance line and they will work with you and the dealer to resolve the issue. The Sky is an important car to Saturn and in my experience the sky owners have been coddled and made sure they were kept happy.
Q: Is the Saturn sky roadster a good car to buy?
I'm looking to get a new car, and i was looking at the 2008 saturn sky and was wondering is it worth buying, or am i gonna just be putting tons of money into it?
A: It has a warranty, so you won't put any money into it for a long time, other than gas/maintenance, and they're pretty good on gas.
Great looks - decent performer (very good if red line model), the biggest issue is the almost complete lack of any storage space. If that's not a problem for you, go for it.
The MX5 is quicker than the non red line Sky, and has a fair amount of trunk space, you should definitely compare them if you're looking for a small convertible.
Q: Can A saturn Sky redline car win a Pontiac Solstice Gxp by speed?
What is the top speed a Saturn sky would go?What is the top speed a pontiac solstice would go? Which is more worth buying? Both cars are affordable. But which is more worth buying?
A: there the same car. same engine/chassis. both are roughly the same weight. both have 260hp 260 torque. so that question i can answer for you. but i dont know the top speed, but im 99.9% sure there gonna be identical.
http://www.caranddriver.com/features/12241/2007-pontiac-solstice-gxpsaturn-sky-red-line-manual.html
if you dont wanna click and read it says 142 (drag limited) top speed.
14.2 in the 1/4 mile. not too shabby for what it is.
personaly i love pontiacs, but for this car i think the sky looks better. but theres no real difference in which one you get, there pretty much the same thing just different bodies. the saturn is a little more cash.
Q: How is Saturn Sky for a first car?
I will be getting my licence soon, and I am starting to look for a new car, and I was wondering how Saturn Sky would be as a first car. If it wouldn't be that great, could you please recommend something for a first car? I am looking for a coupe, or even more preferrably a convertible.
I've looked at the Hyundai Tiburon, Mustang, Saturn Sky, and other cars on Ebay. Which of these (or matching criteria) would be a nice first car?
Thanks, you guys are so nice :)
A: If you can afford the insurance, I suppose the Sky is okay. They are a very nice car. Since you are just starting out with your driving experience, why not look for something sporty with a V6, or 4 cylinder (for lower insurance rates). I am curious to know why you require a new car, as the first car too? Don't you think it would be better to get a good nice looking used car to gain the needed experience, then step up to a new car?
I saw the Pontiac Solstice, and the Saturn Sky. They are both based on the Opel GT of Europe. The Pontiac starts out at $22,000 and some change. The Saturn starts out at $25,000. Isn't that a bit expensive for a first car? All are very nice cars, but do you need a car like that to start out with?
Q: Is Saturn Sky going to be Hybrid for 2009?
I love the Saturn Sky , It looks really great. But am only putting my purchase off because I would love a hybrid. If they plan on making this hybrid for 2009 I will hold off till then.
A: No chance of that any time soon.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a hybrid sports car, the whole idea is a contradiction, isn't it? Hybrids are supposed to be practical - and Saturn Sky's, although very nice looking, are anything but practical since they only seat two and have almost no trunk space. Any other cars that have added hybrid functionality (Civic, Camry, Altima), have given up a significant amount of trunk space for the batteries, but the Sky has none to spare.
Maybe the Sky in it's next version? Definitely not in 09.
Q: How should I save up to buy a 2007 Saturn Sky?
I am a 15 yr old high schooler and when i get my license in January I would like to purchase a 2007 Saturn Sky. The used ones that run well typically run around $21,000. I have approximately $1K saved up right now and my parents have agreed to also help out for $8K of the cost... that brings the total down to $11,000. I have between now and January of 2008... how should I save up? Where typically is the best place to work and make money? Should I maybe invest in stocks? Any general or specific help would be great! PS i live in northern virginia, if any1 lives around there and answers dat would be great
A: I'm 15 TO i wanted a Saturn sky but could not afford one i have never seen a used one 21000 but i live in Georgia so i have decided to try to get a Pontiac solstice that is the Sky's sibling it is a little cheaper then the sky but the sky is a great car and i know everyone is like that's to much car for a teenager with not much driving experience and i don't care if i don't have a backseat they are the coolest and most hottest cars i have ever seen so good luck let me know if you get one oh and where i live theres only one solstice in the whole town and when you get it put sky-high on your tag I'm going to put MY-SOL on my tag and about saving up i don't know much about stock but you could get a job that's what I'm doing are you getting auto or stick I'm getting a stick but anyways good luck for you and your sky
Q: Is is possible to have a 07 Solstice GXP with Saturn Sky taillights?
I got a Mean Yellow 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP, but I really like the looks of the Saturn Sky's tail lights. I doubt the Sky's tail lights will fit in my Solstice, but I just thought I'd ask...
A: They have put a Chevy 350 engine almost anything so I think that changing a set of taillights to a different car would be child's play. Just do it!
Q: does Opel have a factory purchase program or is the Saturn Sky avaiable with the Opel markings?
Some German auto manufactuers have factory purchase programs where you visit the factory, buy a car, drive it for a bit then have it shipped back to the usa. Does Opel? If not can you buy a Saturn Sky with the Opel emblems instead of the Saturn badges and stuff?
A: Hey there,
According to this the car is being built in Delaware.
However it would be built to european specs and would probably need to be modified to run in the US. I think they even have different engines etc. Maybe a bit more than just re-badging...
I guess you could try to by a Sky and the badges and do the switch yourself......
http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/01/25/gm-launches-2007-opel-gt-roadster/
If you really wanted to you could probably find a way to purchase it in Germany and import it to the US. The tax position would be complicated. As you may be able to deduct sales tax in germany if it is exported directly. However if it has been registered in germany and is exported used the position is different. Why not contact the factory in Deleware directly and ask them or find an Opel car owners club for more info.

Q: I recenty bought a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline. What do you think about it, and how would it compare in a race..?
How would my Saturn sky redline compare in a race with..
1. BMW Z3 roadster
2.Pontiac Solstice
3.Nissan 350Z
4. Chevrolet Corvette (Base model)
A: I think they're pretty, much better looking than the Solstice and there is always the cool, "That's a Saturn?" look from people.
1. Depends on the Z3
2. They are the same car(the GXP and your Redline)
3. 350Z
4. Vette would destroy it(436 hp vs. 240)
Q: Should I buy my daughter the saturn sky or the saturn sky redline?
Shes 17 years old. Which one would be the better move?
A: Why are you buying the car for her? If she had to buy her own car, maybe she would get something more sensible.
Q: What car is faster the Saturn Sky or the Pontiac Solstice?
They both look alike! LOL Anyway, I was wondering what car is the fastest? What's the top speed on both of them and what about its 0 to 60 mph time? Can either of these beat a Subaru Impreza WRX STI?
A: they both suck and the solstice is faster if you get them both on a curvy road
Q: where can i find saturn and other cool things in the sky?
I live in Wisconsin and I wanna know where can I find Saturn in the sky? September. And what about other cool things like the norther lights and meteor showers. And I have a telescope to look through.
A: This is not a good time for Saturn, but it is an excellent time for Jupiter. If you download the (free) program, Stellarium, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It shows where everything is, in planetarium style -- real time, for your location.

The following web site will show you a sky map for your sky if you input your coordinates and time of day you want to see what's there. Don't worry about coordinates -- it let's you choose a nearby city.

Saturn is almost exactly on the opposite side of the sun from us right now. Along about December and January, it will be rising in the eastern sky after midnight. By March, it will be in an excellent position for viewing.
Jupiter is the brightest object in your southern sky at midnight right now, (from the Northern hemisphere.) With your telescope, watch its four moons, Io, Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede. You can see Io and Europa changing positions over just a few hours.)
Q: Do you have a suggestion on where I can rent a Saturn Sky for a wedding?
I'm looking to rent one in the Memphis, TN area...preferably yellow or red.

Q: How to spot saturn in night sky?
Hi.
I live in australia, and I was wondering what are some tips to finding where saturn is and what it looks like in the night sky? Im hoping to try to find saturn and view it with my telescope.
So if anyone knows the characteristics of Saturn and some tips for spotting it that would be great.
Thanks.
A: I'd have to say that the most likely place you would find saturn would be in the western sky. As you know the brightest thing in the sky is the moon. The second brightest thing is jupiter which looks like a bright star and the third brightest is saturn which also looks like a bright star.
That's the way i always used to find saturn just look for two stars that are generally brighter than the rest and the brighter one will be jupiter and the other will be saturn.
I too have a telescope and live in sydney. Looking at saturn is fantastic you can see the rings around it.
Q: should I buy a Saturn Sky or a Nissan Z?
Ive never even driven a sports car in my life- this would be my summer car- any other suggestions?
A: Skip the Saturn, I would look at the 350Z, the Honda S2000 and the Ford Mustang GT (maybe even a Miata/MX5). While the Saturn is nice looking, there are a few design and other problems:
-cheesy interior
-clunky manual transmission and numb steering
-poor convertible design
-heavy for it's size (vs a Miata)
-likely poor reliability, especially as it is a new design
-$2000+ dealer mark-ups and can only find loaded models
Nissan:
-Expensive to insure
-heavy
-lousy mpg if you jump on the gas a lot
-good cruiser
Mustang:
-V8 (skip the V6)
-old school suspension
-interior quality poor - looks decent, feels like tupperware
-may be the best looking car of the bunch
-resale/depreciation not great
-not likely to set any reliability standards, but should be average
-mpg not great
S2000:
-sports car of the bunch - rides hard and is noisy
-have to rev it hard to get anything out of it
-great reliability
-manual transmission only (a great one though)
MX5:
-least expensive
-fun to drive, lightest of the bunch
-not overly masculine looking
-least powerful, but good mpg and quick enough for most
