Q: Windshield wiper speed VERY slow on 1995 Saturn SL2?
For some reason the wipers on my 1995 Saturn SL2 run VERY slow - regardless of the setting. Any idea what the problem is? how hard is it to replace the motor? Where is it located?

A: Your motor for the wipers may be showing some age. There's a slight chance that Autozone or Checker may have it, but don't count on it since that's not something you service regularly. Unfortunately you may have to get the part through a dealer. The only other option would be to look in a scrapyard for another Saturn close to the one you are driving (it doesn't necessarily have to be the same since different model years may use the same parts) and get the wiper motor off of it and replace it. Definitely a weekend job, but not too difficult.

Q: 1995 Saturn SL2 dragging plastic thing under motor?
I drove on some snow earlier today and I heard this weird sound, not from the engine, and when I looked I saw some weird plastic thing hanging down a bit under the motor between the two front tires. Anyone know what it is?

A: That is your plastic shield/wind deflector. If it's on the front under the front bumper then it's supposed to be there to deflect the wind up and over through the radiator to aid in engine cooling. If it's flat and rectangular than its there to also direct air flow and to protect sensitive items underneath. On the SL2 the plastic shield/splash guard that protects the alternator from getting wet when you drive through a puddle is IMPORTANT; without it you will go through alternators almost on a monthly basis. Alternators wear out faster when they get wet or contaminated with dirt and debris.

Q: 1995 saturn sl2 clutch problem?
My saturn has been running fine, until 2 days ago. I went out to start my car, and it wouldn't start. The clutch goes all the way to the floor and still nothing, the shifter is loose and can go into gear without the clutch being pushed in. i have dissabled the nutral lock out and still will not start. I have pleanty of tension in my clutch it is not loose at all.

A: Assuming the battery is good, if you have bypassed the neutral/clutch safety switch, then check for power to the starter. I think on Saturn the starter relay is on the starter itself. If voltage is present at the relay in the crank mode, the relay should click and send power to the motor itself. If no voltage is present, then trace the ciruit back to the ign switch. If voltage is present at the relay and it doesnt click, replace the relay. If it clicks and the starter still wont turn, be sure voltage is present at both terminals on the starter itself in the crank mode. If voltage is there then the starter is defective.

Q: Where is the oilfilter located on a 1995 saturn sl2?

A: It's on the right side of the block, which in your case means it's pointing towards the firewall, above the passenger side axle. You have to go under the car to see and remove it. Good luck.

Q: 1995 saturn SL2 what is master enable relay and where is it?

A: try autozone.com

Q: 1995 Saturn SL2 PCV/EGR Valve! Help ?
Hello, I have a question regarding my 95 saturn sl2. Is the PCV/EGR valve the little thing that pokes out from the right of the camcover? And if so, there is a tube that runs from that to the air intake system on the car and both ends where it connects are severely cracked(edit: the hose is) and warn and barely grabs on and the hose is covered in oil. Is oil suppose to flow to the air intake and into the throttle body? It looks like I'm losing oil through this because the hose keeps falling off and draining oil out. Would it be better for the car if I just capped off the valve on both ends? or just buy a new hose?

A: The PCV is a little silver valve that stickes out of the valve cover. The EGR is under the air intake hose to the throttle body. It looks like a little canister with a wiring connection on top. You could lose oil through it by blow by. But PCV valves are generally pretty oily anyway. Should be replaced every other oil change.

Q: 1995 saturn sl2 jerks when i accelerate, but not at idle or crusing?
I've replaced the EGR valve, spark plugs and wires

A: My 2000 Grand Prix did that after after driving a while specially on stopped traffic. Also at high speed also the rpm oscillated when accelerating. In other words after warming up. I took it to Napa to have the transmission flush and cleaned by chemicals. After that it really improved but it was still doing it. I added a can of Trans X and it is almost gone. Also the car drives much better overall.

Q: how do i install a nose mask on a saturn sl2 1995?
i need details

A: i have not put one on that exact car, but i have one for my daily driver. typically, you open the hood and lay the cover against the car. my cover has four eleastic hooks along the middle, and on the end, it wraps into the wheel well, where it snaps into connections that i had to install. it then goes under the car and simple hooks onto the underside of the car. just make sure that it is tight enough, as a loose cover slapping on the car can damage the paint.

Q: 1995 Saturn SL2 4 cyl. Starting Poorly?
The battery is good. I go to turn the engine and it feels like it's right there but it's just not igniting. It does that sound it makes prior to ignition over and over again. I stop turning the key. I do it again, again it sounds like it's just not igniting. Eventually (3-4 key turns) it does ignite then it runs for a few seconds like it's about to stall. I pump the gas. Sometimes this helps sometimes it stalls. Eventually it ignites again. I pump the gas i jam it up to 2k rpm. it comes down idles a bit. sometimes stalls and i repeat eventually runs/idles. once it's running/idling if i let it sit for 10 minutes i'm good. drive away. if i try to drive off it loses power in gears 1, 2, and 3. and jerks forward (manual tranny) This only happens when it's been sitting for a over 4 hours in the cold. It seems to be less of a problem in warm weather and when the car is warmed up it's running fine. Only problem I noticed with the car recently is the oil was a bit low and the coolant was a bit low. I topped them off but could still use any input. Fuel Pump? Fuel Filter? Spark Plugs? Air System? Thanks!

A: sounds like you're having fuel delivery issues. pressure regulator or pump wearing out. borrow fuel pressure gauge and see what pressure you get when car is running, then what happens when you try to drive it.

Q: My 1995 Saturn SL2 is leaking radiator fluid. I just got a new radiator last year.?
I'm not having any other problems. My temperature is fine. I first realized there was a problem when the radiator fluid light came on in my car. After driving for about a half hour on the freeway it came on so I put some fluid in, not thinking anything. Then after driving home after work for another half hour the light came on again and I had to pour in more fluid. I looked under my car while at the gas station and noticed it leaking. I'm taking it in in the morning but can someone give me some general ideas as to what it MIGHT be? I'm not having any other problems. My temperature is fine. It was leaking in the front, right under the engine. It looked like it was coming from the radiator itself, but I don't know that much about cars so I'm not sure. A: Doubt it's the radiator within a year, maybe a hose.

Q: How to check transmission fluid in 1995 Saturn SL2?
It's a manual transmission car, and I can't find the dipstick to check the transmission fluid (or the place to add more fluid). The owner's manual shows a diagram with a red dipstick, which should be near the dipstick for the oil. But when I open the hood, I can't find it anywhere. Help! I'm asking this because it's getting very hard to shift my car into 1st and 2nd gear. It gets a little easier once the car is already moving. There doesn't seem to be a difference whether it is hot or cold. There is no "grinding" noise or anything like that, it just doesn't want to go into these gears. That's the best explanation I can give.

A: There should be an eye glass on the side of the tranny,go under car and bring a napkin with you and a flashlight, and search. If and when you find it it should be half up the small eye glass.Thats good to go,if it's not ad oil, gear oil.Be sure car is level when you do this or you'll get an inacurate reading.DONT PUT AUTOMATIC TRANNY FLUID IN IT,unless you feel like buying a new one.

Q: 95 saturn sl2 problems?
i have a 1995 saturn sl2, its a a manual and sometimes..if i push down on the gas pedal half way to all the way down..the rpms will go way up..but the speed barely goes up..so the rpms are just like shooting up..if you know what i mean.. and it only really seems to do this after i shitft at 4-5 rpms..if i shift at about 3..it wont do it..itll only do it after i shift like that...even after i start shifting at 3..it usually does this for about 20 minutes..but now its doing it longer.. any ideas?

A: Definitely a slipping clutch.

Q: turbocharging a saturn?
is turbocharging a 1995 saturn sl2 worth it

A: Not unless your willing to put more work into the motor. Performance, well, everything. Otherwise the original motor won't last very long.
