Q: 2001 Saturn SL2 Windshield Wiper Speed Control Problem?
My 2001 Saturn SL2 has a windshield wiper problem. I can turn it to intermittent or fast constant speed, no problem. When I turn the controller from off to the middle position for slow constant, it runs as if it were turned to intermittent. If I turn the controller from the fast constant to the slow constant position, sometimes it will operate at slow constant for a minute or so before going back to the intermittent speed.
Is this a switch problem or a motor problem? The dealership over the phone claimed it was probably a motor problem, but it makes no sense to me. Thanks in advance.
A: I believe your problem lies in the multi-function switch. Just some bad contacts in the switch
Q: I have a 2001 saturn sl2, the service lights are on, how can i reset on my own?
A: Stop by an auto parts store...(auto Zone) he will do it for free....
Good luck
Q: I have a 2001 Saturn sl2 and looking for a rain gutter car top carrier. Does anyone know one that will fit?
A: They are a little on the pricy side, but Yakima and Thule make bike racks for almost every car and you can get a carrier that attaches to it.
Also Sears automotive used to sell cartop carriers with a large variety of fitments.
Q: does the 2001 Saturn SL2 have Leather seats on any of their models?
A: Yes,
SL1 and SL2 come fully trimmed in cloth, while the SL uses cloth and vinyl. Leather trim is available for the SL2 for $700, which includes a comfortable leather-wrapped steering wheel with contoured humps at the proper 10-and-2-o'clock hand positions. The gray leather in our SL2 was attractive and comfortable. Front seats offer built-in lumbar support as well as enough fore and aft seat travel to provide additional legroom for taller drivers.
Q: 2001 Saturn SL2 with "Low Coolant Level" light on...?
...it comes on only when the car is dead cold after sitting for 6-8 hours and then goes off after about 5-10 minutes.
I just topped off the fluids today; but my question is: Does this light indicate anything else, like a failing water pump or something similar?
The car won't be sitting for that long until I start it in the A.M. so I won't know for sure if the light stays off.
A: no its only reading the coolant level in the burp bottle on the fender well. but remember these are aluminum headed engines SO change the coolant every 3yrs. or pay the piper.(MECHANIC)....ME..
Q: Power locks and dome light not working on 2001 Saturn SL2 4 door sedan. Fuse is fine, possibly relay?
I got a new engine put in my saturn about 5 months ago, about 3 weeks after I got the engine put in the power locks and dome light stopped working. The alarm on my car would randomly go off if I set the alarm on it and then about 2 days later they just stopped working. I checked the fuse by my passenger seat, it is fine. I am not sure how to check if the relay is good though. If is not the relay what would be my next course of action?
Thanks so much,
Jordan
A: If you are sure that the fuse is still good, it could possibly be a relay but I'd probably guess that it's going to be a damaged or broken wire. Take a voltage meter and take your dome light out. Check to see if it is not getting a positive feed or a ground. If it's not getting the feed, follow the wire back to the relay and make sure the relay is getting the feed to it and that you get a signal to the relay when the door is open. Then you can determine where to start searching and if the power is getting to the relays or components. You should be able to find a wiring diagram on the internet if you can read them. Good luck.
Q: Is there any body kits avalible for a 2001 saturn SL2? I can't find any.?
I dont know if i would call this a wagon.

A: Do you really want to do that?
The front part should be easy but the fact that it's a wagon means you'll have to do it the hard way and modify some body kit for a sedan.
Q: 2001 Saturn SL2 intermittantly wont start.?
This only happens sometimes. I turn the key and the only thing that happens is all of my dash lights come on, the air conditioner comes on, daytime running lights come on and the fuel pump comes on. There is no clicking, no cranking. It wont start with a jump, only with a push start and popping the clutch.
The battery was checked and is fine.
The starter was checked at Auto Zone and is pulling a draw.
Engine is fine.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it starting.
Any ideas?
I forgot to mention that the nuetral saftey switch has been disabled. So that is also not the problem
A: Sounds like your Neutral Safety Switch has about bit the dust. The switch is located at the lower part of the clutch pedal. Simple on/off switch allowing the starter to engage only when the clutch pedal is depressed. Good Luck TW
Q: cause for vibration for 2001 saturn in park gear at idle?
I have a 2001 saturn sl2 and it vibration in park gear at idle

A: sounds like an engine missfire to me theres a million and 1 things that will cause a miss. does the engine light come on does the car have a tach? if so what does the tach do during the vibration if its a miss the tach will dance around a bit
Q: Will the engine out of a 97 saturn work in a 2001 SL2 twin cam motor, I need to know if they will interchange,

Q: Problem with my used 2001 Saturn?
I just bought a 2001 Saturn SL2 with about 100K miles on it. It seems to drive fine on the highway and at higher speeds, but in town, the acceleration and deceleration seem to be a little off. It doesn't always respond immediately to acceleration, hesitating, and then kind of jumping to catch up. It seems to be alright in all other aspects. Any ideas?
A: Check your air filter first. Sounds like the car needs a tuneup. As I always say when you're buying a used car always expect to put at least $500 into it.
Q: Can a 2001 Pontiact Grand Am and a 2002 Saturn SL2 run on e-85?
A: Your vehicle must be specifically designed to run on E-85. Even if it has been designed for it (and noted on the gas cap) you should know that your mileage will drop 20% or more.
Q: HELP ME PLEASE!!! 2001 saturn?
please i need advice! my 2001 saturn SL2 just died!! we think its the transmission. it's a standard transmission. i owe $7,000 on it, and its going to be at least a couple thousand to fix!!! it didn't come with a warranty, and i can't just stop paying on my car, what should i do!?!?!?!?
A: Well I suppose first you should determine that it is 100% the transmission that has caused your car to "die".
If not, it may not be thousands of dollars to repair.
Secondly, please try to be specific and give details when posting that your car has "died" because vague descriptions like this make it difficult for people to give any sound advice.
Third, there are many options for you to consider.
1. If you determine that the transmission is in need to repair or replacement - shop around for the best repair/replacement cost. Cottman is a pretty big name in the transmission business - the onyl drawback is you better get the warranty, or your transmission WILL go out again.
2. If you simply cant afford the repair/replacement then consider taking out small loan from your bank so that you can sort of finance the repair costs - or find a local transmission shop who will work with you on making payments to them for services.
3. Considering have a used or rebuilt transmission placed in your car.
4. Most cases, your transmission can be rebuilt for less than a grand.
Car trouble can be the most stressful thing in the world. Try to weigh all of your options before losing alot of money, or making a poor choice. I wish I could be of more help. I'm sure someone could give some better advice, if you add some details to your question.

I have a 2001 Saturn SL2, a stock cd player which will soon be replaced, no subs or amp. Im looking to replace the 6 1/2 inch speakers in the rear deck. I want to find a pair of speakers that has the best bass and overall performance with good crankability. Links to speakers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
