Q: My Family is consitering purchaseing a 2005 Saturn Vue. If you own one, wanna tell me about it?
:) Just talk to me about it. The good, the bad. Recommendations, ANYTHING!

A: "bad investment breaks easliy and have poor reilability. go with toyota suv highlander or honda suv cr-v" Since when is a car an investment? And you are obviously brainwashed by consumer reports who are so in love with toyota and honda that they fail to see or mention when they have quality issues such as the toyota highlander which by most accounts is one of the lowest rated small SUV's you can buy. As far as the question a 2005 Vue may be an ok choice. The v-6 models use the Honda 3.5l v-6 and 5 speed automatic transmission, both have been nearly bulletproof in the years we had them in the VUE. The 4 cylinder is the GM ecotec 2.2L and while not the greatest engine in the ecotec family (the best being the 2.0L SIDI turbo LNF engine) it gets the job done. I have seen the same engine/transmission combination that is used in the VUE with upwards of 300,000 miles on them. The rest of the car is decent, not the best ever but certianly not the worst. I see very few problems with the later model VUE's 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder. Stay away from an older model (2003 or 2004) 4 cylinder using the CVT transmission, they have problems with that transmission. But they warranty it up to 5 years and 75,000 miles, with most saturn dealers going the extra mile for their customers and taking care of CVT's, some with well over 100,000 on them as a courtesy to their customers.

Q: Can someone tell me how to get crash facts on the 2005 Saturn VUE?
Specifically: I need to know about left front side crash tests. How much speed would be involved to break the left front wheel axle?

A: Try checking with the makers web site, they usally have spec sheets that tell all that.

Q: Current Market Value of 2005 Saturn VUE?
I hit a deer this morning, and I'm pretty sure my car (2005 saturn vue) got wrecked. So I wouldn't be surprised if the damages were over the current market value. So, I was just wondering, what IS the current market value of a 2005 saturn vue? Because I need to know how much money I'm working with towards another car...

A: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2002-to-2007-saturn-vue-3.htm Not sure how you were unable to find this, since it was the second link in Google, for "2005 Saturn Vue Value". Try searching next time. Took less time than it did for you to type the question in the first place.

Q: where Can I purchase a brand new 2005 Saturn Vue Transmission and how much? Not a rebuild or used.?
EOM

A: A new transmission would have to come directly from GM since they make saturn and it will cost a pretty penny,,Just so you know a remanufactured transmission through GM will cost a lot less and they are built to OEM specs. with all NEW parts the only part that is used is the actual housing of the transmission they also include a warranty on them for 3 years or 36,000 miles the same as a new tranny..What is your particular reason for wanting a new one...Just a note there are a lot of cars out there that you cant buy new transmissions they are all rebuilt....

Q: 2000 saturn sl is it true that a 2005 saturn vue gauge cluster will bolt and snap onto a 2000 saturn sl?

A: While I cannot confirm or deny that the Vue's cluster will fit in an SL(never tried it) I can say that even if it could, I highly doubt it could be made operational. The electronic controls are different and as far as I know, they're not compatible.

Q: 2005 Saturn Vue good?
Is the 2005 Saturn Vue a good vehicle and is it very reliable? I found one for $14k with 37k miles has a sun roof and leather interior and is really nice. Is the car good? and is it a decent deal? PS- It would be a first car for me and perfect for headin up north on weekends and packin skis and snowboard in the back.

A: The data are not too favorable. 1. The 5-year Reliability Percentrank average of the Saturn Vue is .17, on a scale of 0.00 to 1.00. For reference, Saturn's overall 5-year Reliability Percentrank average is .30, General Motors' is .31, Honda's is .84, and Toyota's is .89. 2. Based on reported problem frequency for the preceding 5 years, the Saturn Vue is on AutoOnInfo.net's list of Worst Automobiles of 2008. 3. Based on reported problem frequency for the preceding 3 years, the V6, all-wheel-drive Saturn Vue is on Consumer Reports' list of the 2009 Least Reliable. Consequently, you should factor into the purchase price the likelihood of serious problems that are greater than that for Saturns overall and much greater than that for a typical Honda or Toyota. However, if you plan only limited use for a few years, it may serve you quite adequately.

Q: 2005 Saturn Vue owners... A question....?
The repair shop at my local Saturn dealership told me today that the thumping sound coming from the rear area of my 2005 Saturn Vue is normal and that I can't even pay to get it fixed. He also told me that all Vues do this. Please let me know if yours does or doesn't. Thanks!

A: i own a repair shop, and he told you tight on that one,its a defect that don't hurt anything at all,its hitting the rubber bumper on the bottom, and it will do that ,there is no cure for it either,i have one customer that traded theirs back in on a different vehicle because of this, they said it was getting on their nerves, but as of now its something that you have to live with,or trade it like they did,,i know this isn't what you wanted to hear but its all i can offer, good luck i hope this help,s.

Q: How do you set the radio stations on a 2005 Saturn Vue?
I just bought a 2005 Saturn Vue from a non-Saturn dealership. The car didn't come with an owners manual. With that said. I can't figure out how to set the radio stations. I see the set button but can't seem to hit the right buttons. If you have any other details on the Vue like weight of oil, break fluid, etc. that would be nice as well. I was going to order a manual but it cost $25 and only comes in french. Not much help when I only read and speek English. Thanks for any help.

A: Try this, but I am not to sure. Tune in a radio station you like, Now to program that station hold in the 1 button until it blinks, then find another station hold the 2 button until it blinks and so on. Then go back and hit the #'s you programed to make sure the stations are programed You might have more than one band on your radio. Find the band button. The band button is FM1, FM2, you can also program on FM2 then it will have an AM band and you can program AM stations on that one. Try it, it might work

Q: What maintenance should I do on 2005 Saturn Vue 73,000 miles?
We've owned this 2005 Saturn Vue since January of 2005. The only maintenance we've done is change the oil, put new tires, and rotate them a couple times. It was in the shop for quite a while because of something the mechanics just could not figure out. It took them 2 months to finally figure it out. Well in that time, they replaced all the spark plugs and basically took the top of the engine apart and put it back together, trying to figure out what the heck was wrong. Well they finally got it, and my question is now: After all that was done (that was about 20,000 miles ago) what should we do for maintenance now? Transmission flush? Tune up? Filters? What all should we have checked and/or replaced? We really like our truck and intend on paying it off so we'd like to do everything we can to keep her on the road. We're not really having any problems, just trying to maintain. Thanks! No worry about them scamming me, it was all covered by warranty, all free including 2 months of rental cars! :D

A: That's a good thing, to look after your car's maintenance. By the number of miles on your Vue, I suppose you do travel a lot. May I suggest the following: -Change the pads if necessary, or have the disc re-faced (make the brake disc surface smooth again- you may notice circular lines that are actually scratches) With the disc refaced, your pads will have better contact with the disc -Check if the brake hoses are leaking and/or already brittle -Have the connections and terminals of most, if not all, electronic sensors disconnected, sprayed with cleaning solution, and then re-connected again, to get rid of moisture which may have formed over time. Of course, some lights may go off (check engine, etc.) so if you decide to go through with this, have the car scanned with an on board diagnostic equipment. (OBD) This whole re-wiring thing is completely optional. Some sensors may actually need replacing too. -Suspension bushings! Have then checked too (swing arm bushings, tie rod ends, strut bar bushing, etc.). These are mostly rubber parts, which may go soft and worn out over time. Also, your shock absorbers! -Wheel bearings. These run out of grease over time too. Have them greased or replaced, whichever is more necessary. -all filters (air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, air conditioning system air filter). Check and replace if needed. -all fluids (power steering, transmission, coolant, engine, differential) -and those you've mentioned. oh, and theres nothing like a good engine bay wash, body rub-down with wax/rubbing compound. Make it look fresh and new again. May you have more great times with your Vue. :)

Q: I have a 2005 Saturn Vue ( with no owners manual) what does the oil can with the wrench next to it mean?

A: oil change is due. on sedans the reset button is located in the under hood fuse box suspect veu is similar [reset button is red marked [oil] ] with key on and engine off push and hold for 5 seconds [note sometimes a second attempt must be made to reset the darn thing] check your oil level while you are there under the hood and be sure to reset it again when oil service is actually due even if it hasn't come back on [this will put it back into proper sequence]

Q: I've a 2005 Saturn Vue 4X V-6; every time I get out, I get shocked--Why?
Touching the driver's door to close it, I get a slight static electric shock that is strong enough to make me pull back quickly. I have to use my clothed elbow, my foot or some other way to close the door. Why am I getting this shock? What can I do about it? It seemed that it came about during the winter time, and is better now in warm weather. Really curious about this, as I'm tired of getting jolted.

A: Does the car produce the static or do we generate it? Many people experience shocks when they get out of their car. Often they believe that the car is charged - but this is not normally so. When sitting in the car, electrostatic charges are generated on the car seat and the person's body, due to contact and movement between the clothes and the seat. When the person leaves the seat, they take half of this charge with them. As they get out of the vehicle, their body voltages rises due to this charge. When they reach to touch the vehicle door, the electrostatic discharge and shock occurs as their hand approaches the metal door. The voltage build-up can often be avoided by holding onto a metal part of the door frame as you leave the seat. This provides a return dissipation path for the charge on your body. If you have forgotten to hold the metal door part as you leave the seat, a shock may often still be avoided by touching the glass window before you touch the metal door. The glass may be conductive enough to dissipate charge, whilst preventing the rapid discharge which is felt as a shock. Static and Humidity Static charge build-up is enhanced when the air is dry. The air outside can be very dry when the weather is cold and dry. So, static problems and effects are often noticed in dry air conditions. Static shocks are often noticed in cold dry weather, especially when in a centrally heated environment, and may disappear when the weather gets more humid. Static shocks may also be encouraged under air conditioning in hot weather.

Q: Buying a used Saturn Vue? (2005 or newer)?
Hello! I am looking to buy for the first time this summer. I would like a 2005 or newer Saturn Vue. I have been looking at prices in my area and they range anywhere from $10,000 to $16,000. I will not be trading in my car since my parents own it and are giving it to my sister who just started driving. What do you believe is the best deal I can get on this car? Everyone tells me that when I go in I should negotiate the price and see if they will go lower, but since this is my first time I have no idea what I should do! My dad will be going with me to help me along the way. I want to make sure that I get a decent deal. Any advice?? BTW I am not an idiot, and sorry if I sound like one! I am just 21 and have never bought my own car before!

A: ha you just need to relax and calm down. buying your first car should be a blast. and if you want to find out how much a car is worth, go to www.kellybluebook.com and type in the car you want. it will tell you the price it is worth. that way you wont get ripped off. and it never hurts to try and negotiate with the sales man.

Q: Anyone with a 2005 or up Saturn Vue have timing chain broken, issues? ?
I didn't know of problems existing until I did a search, but the problem seems to be only affecting the 2001-2003 models. I was thinking maybe I got one of those types of engines in my 05' Vue

A: The 2005 has a timing belt it uses a honda engine the older ones use a opel made v6 the same one that is in the Cadillac catera the 2005 has a 2.2 ecotec or a 3.5 v6

Q: Does any one own a Saturn Vue and if so there likes or dislikes about it?
Thinking of buying a 2005 Vue but not sure. Haven't heard to much about them

A: I tried to test drive one about a month ago - and it caught on fire in the dealers lot. That was enough for me to see- .

Q: is it hard to replace sync. on 05saturn vue 5spd man. trans.?
2005 saturn vue, 5 spd man trans, need to replace syncronizer, grinds tring to get in reverse, most times it wont go in(i end up pushing), occasionally a slight grind going into 5th yet always goes in 5th. how much will it cost to do myself vrs a mechanic, how complicated on a scale of I-10? thanks

A: That vehicle is not a race car and was not made to double clutch. I suggest taking it to a transmission shop, they can rebuild it for around 2500 bucks.
